This was a really good but over written story, there were big descriptive chunks that I found unnecessary to the meat of the story but if you ignore that part this was an interesting and convoluted tale about 2 sisters who find out after their parents deaths that they are bastards or "No One's Children" and are no longer entitled to their inheritance because their father didn't realize that he needed to make a new will after finally marrying their mother.
The narrative mostly follows Magdalen as she tries many different schemes to retrieve the money and is continually foiled by various people and circumstances. She's a passionate, fiery girl that you get to see go through every emotion and circumstance the writer could possibly think of, while this book was daunting in length it was well worth the read.
