Boy's Life by Robert R. McCammon

5.0

This is basically a perfect book without an ounce of fat on it. I envy this author for being so able to remember what it was like to be a 12 year old boy with such clarity that he could capture the magic of that age for an audience. Yes, the story includes a murder, but this isn’t a book about trying to solve a murder - though that happens, too! This is a love letter to what it was like to feel the tension of both the magic in the world and the horrors that it contains. If that sounds even remotely appealing, you’ll enjoy Boy’s Life.
