A Banquet of Consequences by Elizabeth George

4.0

Even though she's American, I consider Elizabeth George my favorite contemporary British author of detective fiction. I never tire of the Lynley/Havers dynamic and fortunately there is plenty of Havers in this story.

Havers attends a feminist author's book signing and ends up later having to partner with Nkata to find out who murdered her. Of course Havers continues to be on Ardey's bad side and is on a very tight leash.

I couldn't stop smiling at the end of the book due to the various small good fortunes that fall upon Havers. She has new relationships and pursuits (tap dancing, even). Looking forward to see what happens to Havers in the next novel.
