A Banquet of Consequences by Elizabeth George

4.0

I apparently read the first entry in this series a few years back, but have no memory of it. This one... well... I'm not sure if it is great stuff really, but it's well crafted and proved pretty engrossing on a long drive down the freeway. The actual core strand is stronger than the personal-lives-of-the-detectives strand, but the latter is perfectly serviceable. Probably an objective three stars, bumped to four by sheer one-more-chapter readability.
