It's no surprise all the discrimination and social judgment women all around the world suffer, but I think people tend to think it only happens in 3rd world countries and that in more developed countries it's not a problem anymore, which it's not true, we just don't hear it often.
While reading this book I was surprised, not because it was hard for me to imagine or because it was something new, but because I was surprised those things could happen in Korea.
I really enjoyed it, and I think it's a wonderful social commentary book, I would have easily given it 4 stars, but it wasn't my favorite. I'm just not that into the South Korean culture.
It was easy to read, the writing style was okay.
