Conjure Women by Afia Atakora

3.0

This book was a bit slow to start, but beautiful writing and a very interesting ending that had my attention captured. This story taking place in the times of slavery in the U.S., unlike anything I've ever read from this time period. I did expect to learn more about the conjuring itself, though it was more about this small communities' antebellum time and their relationships. Would have liked more of the conjuring as the focus.
