The Sky Is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson

1.0

My Kindle informs me that I began reading this book back in January. I only just finished reading it now, November 10th. It started out ok, I gave it a chance, but it became difficult to want to keep reading. First, it feels like she wrote the book as a movie (god forbid this is ever made into one). Second, Lennie, is so blah. I know she's grieving her sister, but the way that she is grieving was so bizarre. I couldn't connect with it at all, and I've done my fair share of grieving.

All the characters seemed somewhat flat, bare two dimensional at times, but the dimensions didn't even fit together. Lennie was grieving and then making out with her sister's fiance? I really don't see this happening, ever, especially not with a teenager. I don't know, the whole thing was totally un-relatable.

I literally skimmed the 2nd half of the book just so I can mark it read AND find out how the story ends.

I guess some of the writing is good. Meh. I didn't like it.
