A Perfect Obsession: A Novel of Romantic Suspense by Heather Graham

3.0

Review:

This book is a series but you can read it as a stand alone, although it is helpful to know a bit about the Finnegan family background. I did not read the previous book and I did find it a bit difficult, but not too much, to get to know the Finnegan siblings. The opening chapter was my favorite chapter in this book, it started off with a bang. I did like the interaction between Kieran  and Craig, fraught with tension and some passion here and there in the book but not too much that it took away from the murder mystery. The mystery was the main plot and it remained the focus of the book. A serial killer is murdering beautiful women and displaying them in the underground of New York City. I found the history of New York City to be interesting, Kieran's brother runs a tour group that takes you back in history to old time New York City. The Finnegan family runs a bar that has been in the city for ages and a big part of the book takes place in that bar. The main reason I requested this book was for the mystery, I love nothing more than a action packed mystery/thriller where I have no idea what the ending will be. I felt that overall this delivered that for me. I admit that I had some idea of the outcome but was not absolutely sure.

Verdict:

The book delivers a good solid plot with enough twists that did keep me guessing but a bit too distracting with the Finnegan siblings that really had nothing to do with the main plot. This review was originally posted on Cindy's Book Binge
