the most lovely, engrossing and thoughtful-provoking book i’ve read in a very long time. to think of the characters now lays instantly a heavy and bittersweet weight on my chest. steinbeck’s exploration of identity, longing and that inescapable question of the mystery of the human soul stayed with me constantly, in the back of my mind, while i read it. i know they will continue to do so though i’ve turned the last page <3
