At first I thought this book was interminably slow and tedious, but then I realized I was just being an impatient reader. This book has a measured pace and takes its time, but it never meanders unnecessarily--which you only discover at the end. And the reveal is fantastic, feels very original, and, importantly, feels earned. It's only a thriller by the loosest definition. I'm not sure how to categorize it.
