The Promise, Part 2 by Bryan Konietzko, Michael Dante DiMartino, Gene Luen Yang

3.0

This one was definitely an improvement from part 1. Yet there’s still a lot from the original tv show that isn’t getting transmitted properly onto this graphic novel.

I liked seeing Toph’s metal bending academy, mostly because the Sokka-Toph dynamic was always one of my favorites.

Though I feel like Zuko meeting with Ozai is completely out of character, I still enjoyed everything about him in this part. As I have said countless of times already, he’ll always be my favorite character, even when for some reason he’s being treated poorly again.

Aang and Katara are still gag inducing. Jesus Christ.

Yes, this was a step up from part 1, but we still have a long way to go.
