The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde

5.0

I read this in high school and am happy to report that ten years later it is as ridiculous and brilliant as ever.

My fav lines:
- (When asked to give Algy her diary, Cecily responds:) “Oh, no. You see, it is simply a very young girl’s record of her own thoughts and impressions, and consequently meant for publication. When it appears in volume form I hope you will order a copy.”
- “Once a week is quite enough to dine with one’s own relations.”
- “I hope you will always look at me just like that, especially when there are other people present.”
