The Fire Never Goes Out: A Memoir in Pictures by ND Stevenson

3.0

Stevenson's graphic memoir is about her journey as an artist and a human, especially her college years and the years of launching her career after. I really enjoyed reading about the ways that Stevenson overcame challenges on her path to love and self-acceptance, personally and professionally. Her memoir shares reflections from the years that took her from art student, to award-winning graphic novel artist, to working with the rebooted animated series She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. I'm not sure that this one would hit as hard with those unfamiliar with Stevenson's work, but it definitely shares a message of loving and believing in yourself.
