About the Book: Murgen is cursed to fall into time, and watch events unfold outside of his own body. Things that were. Things that are happening. And things that will come to be. It doesn’t look pretty, truth be told. Powers unimaginable, gods so old these ones they fought for seem like squabbling children. And the fate of Croaker too… But first, Black Company must survive the here and now, somehow, with him passing in and out, bearing the shame of having lost Company’s standard, surrounded and trapped by the enemies, with everything, even morale, running low.

My Opinion: Better than the previous one, but terribly annoying with a lot of nothing’s-happening scenes, where it’s not even there to be a cozy respite, the time jumping around, and unnecessary complexity at times. Still, the writing is very good, as if it wasn’t for this smooth continuation even through the time shifts, it would’ve been very difficult to follow, a mistake too many authors and writers make. Main plotline was very good too, provided a solid view into how the entire tale is going to shape up
