i didn't love this quite as much as what moves the dead, but it's one of those series i want to go on forever. i love easton and i'm sorry for wishing more horrible things on kan, but i love it so much! i never remember the mycologist lady's name, but she's fantastic, as is easton's horse. i've enjoyed all the kingfisher books i've read, but def prefer her horror (so far? for now? who knows if it will change). and for me, the two books in this series showcase everything i love about her writing. excellent creepiness, genuine laugh out loud moments, and v expressive animal companions lol i also feel kingfisher is one of those authors whose books are exactly as long as they need to be to tell the story, which i always appreciate. i really hope this ends up being more than a two book series!! (sorry easton haha)
