Dating Tips for the Unemployed by Iris Smyles

3.0

I don't think this book knows what it wants to be. Is it the memoir of a struggling, selfish artiste? Is it a collection of essays detailing the struggles of single life? Is it the absurdist stream of consciousness writing of a Greek-American twenty-something? The story is all over the place with no real time line or segues between what we'll loosely call "chapters". Maybe installments is a better word. It's interesting to listen to, but I have no idea what's going on.
