Te-Tao Ching by Robert G. Henricks

5.0

I should confess to bias at the outset--I studied under Professor Henricks in college and thoroughly enjoyed his lectures.

His translation of the Te-Tao Ching must certainly be among the best on the market today. It captures the poetry and rhythm of Lao Tze's language--no easy feat given the vast differences in time and culture that separate modern English speakers from the great sage.

On a more personal level, I will always love the Te-Tao Ching because it was a signpost on my own journey out of spiritual darkness. I would never have become a Roman Catholic if it had not been for Lao Tze! Christian readers will find much in his writings that prefigures the teachings of Christ. Others will simply marvel at the depth of thought and purity of these words.
