This Warhammer horror collection contains twelve short stories by different authors. There is a huge variety in their quality and level of horror. Although some of them may need some prior knowledge of Warhammer the majority can be read by anyone no matter their level of Warhammer experience.
It was good to see some of the same authors that contributed to Maledictions returning to contribute to Invocations too. There seemed to be more of a focus on gory descriptions in a few of these stories, rather than building up a truly horrific tale, but I didn't mind this as the stories were still fun. A Sending From The Grave in particular didn't really feel like a horror story any more than normal Warhammer books are.
Flesh and Bone was probably my favourite of the stories in this collection, suitably creepy and gory. Blood Sacrifice also stood out to me as one of the better tales; hospitals are always a fun setting for horror stories and this one is wonderfully creepy and horrifying.
Overall this was a fun collection which I will enjoy dipping into again in the future.
