Into the Dark by Peter Abrahams

3.0

I enjoyed the first two books in this series a great deal. It was my "go to" series to recommend to younger teens who were looking for mystery stories. There's not a lot to recommend after you've graduated from Nancy Drew, but aren't quite ready for Agatha Christie.

I found this book frustrating, however. It's disconcerting to always be two or three steps ahead of the character who's supposed to be figuring out the mystery. Maybe Ingrid's hormones are starting to get the better of her, but she seemed a lot sharper in the first two books.

This one has a kick-butt ending, though, so I'm glad I finished.

Caution for animal cruelty, however.
