Harley Quinn, Vol. 1: Hot in the City by Amanda Conner
4.0
I need to take my time moving through the Harley series. Too much Harley does interesting things to my brain.
It's really a bad idea to read a series in reverse, but it does make it fun to see why exactly Harley has a billion animals living in her home. And also why she lives in a giant warehouse/apartment complex with sideshow freaks. Holes I noticed but couldn't complain about are now getting filled, and it's pretty delightful.
Also, the opening volume is so meta, I want to own it as a single piece. It's Harley talking to the current writers of the series, and each page is a different past artist doing their take. The artwork is fantastic, and the writing is fun and funny.
