Hungry Hill by Daphne du Maurier

4.0

Once again I loved Daphne du Maurier's writing. It is descriptive and smart and shows so much insight into the human psyche.
The story in this book was just a tad too depressing for me. I just wish someone in this book would have had some sort of happy ending. Ever character ends up alone, crazy or dead. I was very immersed in the story and characters however, and kept reading on without losing interest. Hal was my favourite, and his part of the saga touched me most. This part of the book I could not put down. I was really invested in the story and had to blink away tears at one point. That makes any book great for me, hence the four stars.
Not Daphne's best work but I would recommend this to anyone who loves historical fiction and knows some of the authors other works.
