Lucky by Alice Sebold

5.0

Whether you're a victim of any sort of attack or not, you should read this book. Alice Sebold's account is so incredibly honest; she does not she away from sharing any details. It is a tough read for sure, knowing it's non-fiction but without spoiling anything I would like to point out that it does give hope. See it through.

I heard from a graduate of the same college at which this crime occurred that it was particularly tough for her to read as she's walked the very same routes as Alice did when she was victimized. This very real, very honest tale of her struggles lend really important insight to both primary and secondary victims and honestly - humans in general. I couldn't put it down from the moment I picked it up and I was left altered a bit upon completion. Very powerful book. Highly recommend to everyone.

I feel like those convicted of similar crimes should be forced to read this ... anyone with any smidgeon of humanity in them will perhaps regret what they've done -if they are capable of such an emotion.... this if of course on a different note and I digress...
