Very different from the anime! I knew the original 90's anime deviated from the manga quite a bit, but i didn't realize how much! But then again this is a re telling of the story, so I may have to check out the original manga. I liked how quickly the scouts came together, I like that the Dark Kingdom is not just a bunch of stupid minions unlike how they are depicted in the the original anime. Overall I would say this is so far a much more enjoyable experience from the anime, with out the pacing problems.
