Thirsty: A Novel by Jas Hammonds

A really great read that tackles race and class, following Blake, a teen of color eager to get involved in an all women of color social group at the college where she'll be in the fall. It is about friendship and family and what happens when you start to drink..and maybe drink too much. Blake is a great character and the writing was engaging. I do wish the last whole section of the book set in the first semester of college had been maybe a short, single chapter epilogue instead since it felt a little unnecessarily long...and a little too neatly bowed.
