So I went into this with no expectations at all, I just picked it up randomly at the used book store and saw it was a short horror book, and it would be a quick read.
I definantly ended up pleasantly surprised. It's a really well written story and although it's not very fast paced, it's short enough that it doesn't really bother me. Although I wasn't around when Dwyer's suicide happened, I stumbled upon the video at a very young age, and was around when boys in my class would find it funny to randomly show you bestgore videos. I have bad intrusive thoughts and the images I saw never really left me and I still see them sometimes when I close my eyes.
Overall scanliners was short and quick, definantly worth the read.
