dark emotional reflective slow-paced

This is labeled as non-fiction, but has fantastical story elements.  I picked up this book because it was chosen as a book club pick for a queer book club that I haven't officially joined yet, but will be soon.  I found the essays to be really reflective of the reader in how we read books and how we interact with the stories and the storytellers. 

Highly recommend, be prepared to feel intense emotions.
