Lost Girls: An Unsolved American Mystery by Robert Kolker

4.0

My heart aches and is heavy with sadness. I think this was such a great way to not only tell the story of what happened to these girls, but also tell us who they actually were. It's easy to read a headline or watch a news segment and just take the story at face value, but this book brings so much to the forefront and really allows the reader to feel what it was like being any of the girls. Melissa, Megan, Maureen, Amber, Shannen, and the many other victims found are not just stats or bodies to be forgotten. It's so important to remember that they were real people and their lives deserve recognition.
