Beauty and Sadness by Yasunari Kawabata

4.0

A re-visit to a favourite, I am quite enjoying going back to these books as audiobooks. A different chance to appreciate the books. So far my two prior ones (Thousand Cranes & Snow Country) only comfirmed what I first thought about them, this time however I found I enjoyed the book more than I originally did.

It seemed to envelop me more than the first time around and the story came by in an instant, it is a hanutningly good novel and one I am sure I will treasure time and again, like all the works by Yasunari Kawabata I have enjoyed so far.

As such I have raised my rating from 3 to 4. I can see it being a 5 when I read it again in paper format.
