New Mutants, Vol. 1 by Vita Ayala
4.0
This volume collects Jonathan Hickman’s issues of New Mutants, which were released interchangeably with Ed Brisson’s issues that told a different story.
New Mutants really contrasts with Hickman’s writing on X-Men. While the former is very serious and shot through with tension, this is a fun cosmic jaunt to the Shi’ar Empire.
It’s not essential by any means, but I enjoyed it. I don’t think Hick-fans could go wrong with giving this a read, but I don’t see how this contributes to the real drama of the Krakoan Age on Earth.
