This was such a lovely story of self-rediscovery and being true to who you are. I totally understand Rex’s fears of revealing his Drag persona and I was glad that the various facets of the queer experience were shown; love and blatant support, love expressed as fear that led to rejection, a different form of familial love through a drag mother, and love as a gay man but not as a drag queen.
Paolo was also the perfect book boyfriend. He was patient, he was sweet, willing to help and also funny. Plus, I love a man who pines 😭 that speech at karaoke? SO ROMANTIC! I can see this helping so many queer boys and drag queens out there who need this story of triumph despite the hate that may be geared towards them.
