Lina's mother has passed away, and her dying wish was that Lina go and spend time with her father in Italy. However, her mother left out a lot of the details and has never shared who her father was before. Now Lina is spending the summer in Tuscany with little more than her mother's diary and occasional phone calls with her best friend back home. Lina starts to get to know the joys of Italy by exploring them with Ren that she literally ran into on one of her first days.

An enjoyable romance with some interesting character development. Very much a light YA romance read with some heavier themes threaded throughout, but the grief of losing a parent is discussed. Most characters read as Caucasian American and Italian.
