Before I Let You Go by Kelly Rimmer

‼️TW: Drug abuse, NAS baby, loss of a loved one‼️This was such an emotional book for me. I never fully cried or sobbed, but I did get sick feelings in my stomach, knots in my throat and teary eyed a few times. The story is told from the older sister Lexies POV but also from her sister Annie’s journal entries.

This is a story about addiction, pregnancy, grief, secrets, harsh family dynamics, trauma, love, and healing. While it was very sad to read, it was also so incredibly interesting and hard to put down. I really think that this book was very much an educational experience for me in regards to a NAS baby. It was very much a raw and moving storyline. While it’s fiction I definitely think that it’s raw and honest. So it did feel a bit heavy, but I absolutely loved this book.
