When He Vanished
by T.J. Brearton
This was a good solid thriller: missing husband, questionable history, and potentially unreliable narrator. I realize that last one annoys some people but in this case, it added just a bit of a question to what was being relayed to the reader. If it helps, the character was questioning herself! Jane is just trying to live her life with her two kids and author husband. They live in a nice house in a small town and her family's history seems to be far away. But when her husband goes missing, she worries about a lot of things. Do people think she did something? Do they know about her mother? Do they think John ran away? What was going on with John? Ms. Brearton continues to do a great job of making her stories very character strong so the reader learns about them as the story unfolds. This all made for a good read that kept me engaged.
