Der Herr des Turmes by Anthony Ryan

3.0

Mhh yeah i have to agree with most of the other reviews, the first one was leagues above this. This suffers heavely from what i like to call "second book in a trilogy-syndrome". A lot happens but also not enough somehow, every end seems loose but not in an exciting kind of way, the amount of new povs and story elements was ... a lot sometimes.
I took me like 3 weeks to slog through this, which is a lot for me.

I hated Frentis pov. Hes just a watered down version of Vaelin and i never really warmed up to his part of the story.
Vaelin seemed awfully distant in this book, it felt like we lost a part of him here.
On the bright side, i did really enjoy Revas POV and the addition of her religion and religious conflicts. Lyrnas POV was good too. We do love the strong female characters portraied in this book.
There are so many background characters to keep track of at this point, which also got kind of overwhelming for me. But i think that might just be a me problem.

Do i understand the war thats going on right now? No, not really, because i feel really unbothered. I dont really see a point to it yet.

I hope book three is gonna save this series for me. Well see
