I really wanted to enjoy this book, and in some ways I did. And in others, I struggled to make it through.

I did enjoy that the book had me jumping back and forth with who I was rooting for in a sense. They both kept making really big mistakes but choosing each other in the end.

I will say, I didn't fully understand their desire for each other at the beginning of the book. Leading into their relationship it felt a little like telling not showing.

And the ending just felt entirely unnecessary. I really wanted them to work it out, but it just felt like the theme of the story was denied to readers. That despite working through their problems, they both faced a terrible ending.

The words were pretty, but I was left broken hearted.
