I can't believe I'd never read this one before. It was a great read-aloud. Told at a relaxed pace but very compelling, and ending with questions that made me wish there was more of it. It's surprisingly emotionally affecting for an old story about mice and rats. There's a wistfulness and a weight to the whole thing that was just right for me right now. I really enjoyed it.
