It's been a while since I've been in the world of Sophie Katz. I forgot just how chaotic this world could be. The title really should have clued me in.

In a way, I'm glad I stuck it out and finished this series, even knowing that the last two books were a little bit too much for me. While this book did leave us on a bit of a wild cliffhanger, I'm under the impression that there this is the series finale. And let me tell ya, we went out with a bang.

Sophie really dove into the deep end with this one. But the thing is, I was keeping up with Sophie every step of the way. Every clue she uncovered, I was right there with her, clicking things into place. It was kind of fun to be on par with the protagonist of my novel.

This book was definitely a mind-fuck and a half at some points. The scope of the mystery was so broad at the outset, I was legitimately worried for a while that this was going to end up being way bigger than it ended up being. In the end, the scope narrowed down, and that's when things started to get interesting. At least, for me.

However, one line in this book really stuck with me: "If someone tells you they're doing something for the greater good what they're really telling you is they're about to do something very bad. Good deeds don't have to be justified." This is a quote that's going to stay with me for a very, very long time.

Despite the cliffhanger hint of potentially more to come, if this series ends here, I think that would be a good thing. I enjoyed my adventures with Sophie Katz, but her brand of chaos is just a little to much for me these days.

Sophie's mysteries were fun-filled, dramatic, and full of adrenaline. I enjoyed getting to know her, and her world. But now it's time to start getting to know a whole new world of mystery. Good thing I have a series waiting on standby!
