Lucas by Jay McLean
5.0
Well, it's official already - I am in love with the entire Preston family and their associates. Now I must read on so that I can read more about this glorious family and find out what happens with the other boys.
This was a really well-written book, and had sufficient mush and steam to keep me happy. Part of me (probably the 'bitch' part) thought that maybe the book had a little TOO much. But I know that's how many readers like it, and it's not like Laney and Luke didn't .
So yeah, the story had its hard-to-read moments, but it was heart-wrenching, heart-warming, and amusing as heck in all the right places.
I'm officially a fan! I think I'd give it about 4.5 stars if we could give half stars.
ETA: I had thought this was my first Jay McLean read, but I was wrong. I forgot I’d read More Than This a few months back and felt underwhelmed by it. Well, I can say for sure that if you weren’t sold on that one either, you should still give this spin-off series a chance.
