It has been some years since I saw the movie What's Love Got To Do With It and man....I hate Ike Turner all over again. Tina details their relationship and his abuse. If you're easily triggered please beware. I knew the abuse was bad from the movie but hearing it in her words...man...hopefully he's burning in hell. Anyway I listened to this on cd and Tina's voice is on briefly in the beginning and then it's read by Heather Alicia Simms who does a good job. Tina takes us from the beginning to current day. This woman has had one incredible life. She talks about her life growing up in Nutbush, Tennessee and how her mother and father used to leave her a lot growing up. She also talks about her health issues she's had and talked about her current husband (who sounds like a saint)giving her one of his kidneys. As you may remember Tina had a son who committed suicide in July 2018 and she talks about that which is absolutely heart wrenching. This was a great listen. I'm so happy that she found the strength to leave Ike so many years ago and now has someone who loves her the way she should be loved. WON'T HE DO IT?
