Defend the Dawn by Brigid Kemmerer

medium-paced

2.5

This book definitely suffered from the second book syndrome. Why the hell did this turn into an unnecessary love triangle? Corrick and Tessa had a beautiful relationship in the first book, and the second installment completely ruined it. I hate love triangles. Also, what the hell happened to the characters? Who are these imposters, and where are the real Tessa and Corrick? Tessa was such an interesting character in the first book, but in this one, she turned into an annoying, stupid mess. She went from supporting Corrick to shit talking and constantly doubting him, it was just painful to read.

I’m such an idiot.

Well, at least she's aware of that.

I'm so disappointed, I don't even want to read the third book.
UPD: After reading the spoilers, I'm definitely not reading the third book. What a disaster, I loved the first one so much.
