Those second book blues. I have them.
So much exposition and flashbacks and just ongoing character development.

With the uncovering of Karou's past life and how she got her Hamsas we're thrown backwards and we see more about the war between the Angels and the Chimaera. This was good. I actually enjoyed this stuff. I feel like this could have been the first book and then flashed forward rather than us trying to make us go *gasp* "she was one of them all along!". I wasn't invested enough into Karou to actually care about her until then. Then I cared.

The second book is everything building up. Everything seems to be coming to a head but it is taking forever! I want it to be here now. I feel like there's parts of this book that need trimming down or cutting out but then there are some that are glossed over and I want more of that.

Onto the last one. Hopefully this isn't building to a disappointment. I've put so much time into reading this so far!
