Cursed by Ice: The Immortal Brothers by Jacquelyn Frank

5.0

Cursed by Ice is the second book in the Immortal Brothers series. While this book can be read as a standalone, to better understand the back story you should read Cursed by Fire first.

I really enjoyed the first book of this series Cursed by Fire and I couldn't wait to dive into this story! To make this story even better...Dethan the hero from the first book is also a supporting character in this book, which gives you a bit of a follow up with him and Selinda. *Happy Dance*

In Cursed by Ice, we discover that this world Jacquelyn created is not like our world at all, instead it is filed with magic, dragons, and people that look nothing like you and me. In this story we meet Sarielle, who is a slave in her city due to her lavender skin. Sarielle is not only special because she catches the eye of an immortal man named Garreth, but also because she has a bond with a magical beast. Garreth like his brother Dethan, is an immortal that was released from his tortured existance to fight in the name of a Goddess.

This story had a well laid out storyline, that flowed smoothly and was quite entertaining. While I expected this storyline to be much like the first book, I was pleasantly surprised to find it was quite unique in how the story unfolded. I loved the vulnerability that Sarielle showed, while also having great strength as a woman and a character. The magical component of this story really set it apart from the previous book and made it all the more enjoyable.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the first two books in this series and I can't wait to see what happened next!
