I liked the idea of this book. I like that it was a Mexican inspired fantasy, which I haven't experienced much of. I like the way it wrote about gender identity and the idea of Teo's wings being dysphoric due to feather coloration. I did not like how modern it felt in the sense that they had off-brand of our social medias and even the same trends. Instead of making the world feel relatable, it kept taking me out of it. As much as I liked some of the characters, I also found parts of almost all of them truly unbelievable (and not in the good way). Overall it was a good time, but I had a lot of trouble staying in it.
