Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein

I have to be honest: when I found out this was a 'young adult' book, I didn't hold out much hope. But I was very pleasantly surprised. From the first pages I was drawn in by the storytelling - the way the narrator slowly fills in the blanks but also leaves you guessing at what is true and what is not. There is violence and terror in these pages, but it is not dwelt upon. I really enjoyed this book.
