From Here to Eternity: Traveling the World to Find the Good Death by Caitlin Doughty

4.0

Continuing (somewhat overlapping) where Mary Roach’s Stiff examined the deceased human body, Doughty explores to cultural beliefs & practices of human burial rites. Frustrated by the commercialization of these practices, Doughty, a mortician, seeks out international passages of death celebrations. Lacking some of the writing prowess of Roach, this author provides a little more in candid case studies and illustrations. Definitely learned some practices I’d never heard of before!
