The Throne of Fire
by Rick Riordan
This series is fun to read, but still can't hold a candle to Percy Jackson and the continuing adventures of Camp Half-Blood. When I picked up The Lost Hero, I just got this rush of excitement to be back in a world that I love. When I picked up this one, I was just kinda like, "Well, here we go again." I don't know if it's because Riordan has done more world-building with the other series, or if my own familiarity with Roman/Greek mythology has more of an appeal (though I really enjoy learning more about Egyptian mythology). I even like Sadie and Carter as characters. So I'm not sure why this series doesn't grip me like the other. But I'll keep reading it because it is always an enjoyable distraction. I'd really like a book where the Kane kids get to spend some more time in the Brooklyn House with Khufu and Phillip. I kind of missed that in this book.
