Not quite the cozy, heartwarming Christmas read I was after. The first half of the book was slow and introduced a bunch of pretty heavy topics (eating disorder, substance abuse) - if this was mentioned in the blurb/synopsis, I probably wouldn't have picked it up. The miscommunication trope was overdone and felt like overkill towards the end. There was a lot of excessive description and detailing which unnecessarily lengthened the book. The book fell on its face - dull and boring.
