Guardians by Josi Russell

4.0

I received a copy of Guardians from Future House Publishing in exchange for an unbiased review.

I was really surprised when I found out that there was going to be a sequel to Caretaker because you can read it as a standalone novel. However I found that Guardians is a very different book from Caretaker because unlike Caretaker there is a lot more going on with a lot of new characters and intertwining stories. In Caretaker, the first half of the story was mostly background information that you needed to know in order to get on with the plot whereas Guardians didn’t really need that and the story was able to get started almost as soon as you start reading.

As entertaining of a read as it was it was a little bit of a slow read for me but still a fun book nonetheless. Also if you haven’t read the first book, I don’t think its that big of a deal because any information that you really need to know from the first one for the second, Russell fills you in quickly. Overall I would definitely recommend because once again Russell creates an exciting world with intriguing characters and a story that'll keep you on the edge of your seat.
