This has an intriguing premise and cool worldbuilding - the brujx gifts are cool, and the background of Mexican culture is so rich. I also like how all the foreshadowing around the main antagonist and conflict are done, such that you know what's coming even though it's been happening off-page, and it feels like good payoff when things escalate.

However, the romance between Yadriel and Julian is kind of lacking. It doesn't feel like they have a deep enough connection to justify the way they behave towards each other by the end. On the other hand, the trans representation is great, especially with the "acceptance, but with micro-aggressions" angle. Very realistic in a family.
