Big Boned by Meg Cabot

3.0

Definitely average. I read the first two in this series when I was about 14 (I’m 30 now) & could barely engage with this one properly. While the writing was humorous, I thought the plot felt a little incomplete. The opening pages are more exciting than 60% of the book, but to be fair, it’s a light read, which doesn’t require a big attention span and isn’t trying to be anything it’s not.
While I wasn’t overly impressed, I think I wasn’t in the right mood for it, or maybe I grew out of it (it’s a good “adult” book for teenagers). I can appreciate why it’s an enjoyable read, and a chick lit murder mystery is good escapist fun.
